Movie _ Backstory

  note     [ the following story explains how he fits into the storyline of the movie, including an alternate ending. for the game canon backstory please see below. storylines don't have to follow this exact plot, it just makes it easier to understand what i had in mind with this character ]Bryan meets Cyrus after getting out of the tunnel that leads to raccoon city. He fires a few shots at the rat-king-zombie that had been following Bryan and tells him to get in the car. On the ride, Cyrus explains that he is a cop and was on his way to raccoon city as well because of his sister. He doesn't really reveal much about himself but seems very interested in Bryan's "delivery". Cyrus then tells him about umbrella and how his sister was working for them to find a cure.When they reach the town, their car gets stuck and they have to walk the rest of the way. They get separated a while later and Cyrus hands Bryan a gun, telling him that they'd meet at the hospital.( canon movie events of the sewers ... )They reunite in the hospital after Bryan makes it out of the elevator. Cyrus is suspicious of his condition but still helps him get to the top of the building.When they reach the lab, none of the scientists seem to know Cyrus. He tells Bryan to hand them the sample so they can make the cure. Once the cure if finished and Bryan begins to change, Cyrus points his gun at him but shoots the scientists behind him instead, taking the cure.Finally he reveals to Bryan that he's not a cop at all, but that he's a mercenary instead and his job had been to take the sample of the cure and get it out of raccoon city. Originally he planned to kill Bryan in the car when they first met but decided to let him life a little longer because he reminded him of a younger version of himself.Mutated Bryan then attacks Cyrus in order to get the cure. They fight but instead of killing Bryan, Cyrus decides to inject him the cure, healing him fully. He tells him that they need to leave immediately because the entire town is about to get nuked.Aftermath:
After escaping raccoon city, Cyrus takes Bryan back home so he can reunite with Michelle. He tells him that he overheard his voice message in the parking lot and that was the reason why he couldn't let him die. He also tells him that he cannot tell anyone about what happened and that umbrella will be looking for Bryan since the cure could still be in his blood.After that Cyrus leaves, telling him that it was best if they'd never meet again but just in case, he gives Bryan his number.

Canon _ Backstory

  1998     during the events of raccoon city he was eighteen years old. his father worked in a lower position at umbrella and just got home from his shift when the incident happened. he told cyrus that they had to leave the town immediately but the outbreak had already started and panic began to spread.they try to make their way out of the town, but cyrus didn't know that his father had already been infected prior to his return home. eventually his father dies and cyrus meets a small group of survivors who help him get out of town.  1998-2008   he didn't have anywhere to go so cyrus joined the military, hoping that he would never have to feel so weak and helpless again. while the military could help him with that, cyrus began to realize that he was fighting the wrong fight. He wanted to help fight bioterrorism instead of working for the government, which led to him joining the BSAA in 2008.  2001     he helped fight B.O.W's for many years, but at some point, cyrus felt like they weren't doing enough and questioned their missions. after he continued to disobey orders, he was told to take a while off from but never came back.  2011-2024     after leaving the BSAA, Cyrus began to work as mercenary which helped him get information on the use of B.O.W's. Instead of sharing the information with the BSAA or any other official organization, he takes it upon himself to track down the people that produce and sell them.  2024-present     A few years prior to the events of re9, Cyrus was arrested by the government and charged with a lifelong sentence in prison. His only option to avoid that was an agreement to work for the government again. Without any other options, Cyrus accepts the offer and works for the DSO now.
